LONG ISLAND CITY — Police are searching for a woman who made a phony bomb threat last month, calling and emailing a company in Queens to say she was going to blow up their building, according to the NYPD.

Vernice Brown, 26, called Propper Manufacturing Company shortly before 11 a.m. on May 19 and told a staffer there that she was going to blow up the building, then sent an email to the company about a half hour later making the same threat, police said.

The NYPD's Emergency Services Unit responded to the building at 36-04 Skillman Ave., near 36th Street, but didn't find any weapons or explosives, police said.

It was not immediately clear whether Brown was known to any employees at Propper or otherwise affiliated with the company, which manufactures medical supplies, according to its website. The business declined to comment Wednesday, citing the active police investigation.

The NYPD released a photo of Brown Tuesday night in an effort to locate her. She has brown eyes and long brown hair, according to the image.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
