Woman Beaten Unconscious Inside Bowling Green Subway Station, Police Say

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A woman standing on a subway platform last week was knocked unconscious by a stranger, police said.

The 26-year-old victim, standing inside the Bowling Green station, was approached by a man at about 5:50 p.m. on June 14 who told her he was going to slap her. He then proceeded to punch her, knocking her unconscious, police said.

She fell to the ground and the man fled. The victim suffered a cut lip and bruising to her face; she was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the man, who is described as approximately 35 to 40 years old, 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5, and about 250 pounds.
