WILLIAMSBURG — A car sped down a crowded sidewalk, injuring a 9-year-old boy on Thursday afternoon minutes after its passengers tried to pass counterfeit money in four stores, according to police and a video of the incident.
The driver of the Toyota ran over the boy's foot at Rodney Street and Lee Avenue at 4:10 p.m., according to police. He was rushed to the hospital.
A video published by Yeshiva World News, which first reported the incident, captured a hectic scene where a car comes hurtling down the sidewalk, sending young children running in all directions to avoid it.
The driver crashed into another car at Harrison Avenue and Hooper Street Yeshiva World News reported. He fled the scene on foot and hadn't been arrested as of Friday morning, police said.
Juavomi St Victor, 19, a passenger in the car was arrested at outside of 365 Marcy Ave., police said. He was charged with forgery, petty larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Moments before his arrest St Victor had used counterfeit bills at four nearby stores, buying items under $3 and pocketing $240 in change, police said. He'd gone into Panini La Cafe, Weingarten Health Food, Ratieh Pharmacy and Stuart Slater Pharmacy, according to police.
He and the driver, who police said was also involved in the counterfeiting, then fled the scene in the Toyota, the scene captured on video.
"I didn't realize until everybody [was] running outside trying to get away from [the car]," said Daniel Daid a worker at Stuart Slater Pharmacy.
"The car was driving over the sidewalk...There were little children, they just ran away."

St Victor was awaiting arraignment as of Friday morning, officials at the district attorney's office said. No information about his lawyer was available immediately.
