HUDSON HEIGHTS — A man robbed a neighborhood Starbucks at gunpoint of about $1,800 in cash Friday morning, police said.

The suspect, described as about 20 years old, entered the coffee shop at 803 W. 181st St. with a gun at about 6 a.m. and demanded that two female employees point him to the safe, the NYPD said.

The workers led the man to the safe, which had a timer and only opened at preset times, police said.

He waited around for the safe to open and then grabbed a bag containing $1,800 before fleeing, the NYPD said.

The two employee were not hurt.

A spokesman for Starbucks confirmed the injuries and said they were grateful “there were no injuries.”
