MANHATTAN — A young man tried to rape a 24-year-old woman in her Lower East Side apartment building Saturday after sexually assaulting her in an elevator, according to the NYPD.

The suspect is 16 to 20 years old, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 130 pounds.
