MANHATTAN — A coalition of women rallied outside Trump Tower Tuesday to tout Donald Trump as a champion of gender equality — calling claims that he's a misogynist "silly" before proceeding to cheer for another supporter's sign comparing Hillary Clinton to a dog.

Members of the New York-based Women for Trump Coalition ran around outside Trump's Fifth Avenue headquarters cheering and waving pink signs that read "Women for Trump" prior to his scheduled primary day party.

When asked what they thought about Trump's controversial comments about women, a supporter insisted the Republican hopeful was pro-women.

"He promotes women left and right," said MaryJean Tomasino. "His head campaign person is a woman. The way he talks about women — it's so silly what the media does to him."

She mentioned Trump's history of promoting women in his business, claiming he was "one of the first businessmen that have promoted women in the workplace."

But it's Trump's business acumen that really makes him a prime candidate, said Tomasino, calling his tax plan "genius."

"He's the only one that could truly make America great again," she said.

Tomasino said the coalition has not received any criticism from women for its support of Trump.

Moments later, a woman walked by holding a sign comparing Hillary Clinton to a dog, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from Tomasino and her fellow coalition members.

"Hillary, my dog has a vagina, should she be president? Your vagina is not a credential for the presidency," read the sign, held by a woman named Margori, who declined to provide her last name.

Originally from New York City, Margori said she flew from Tampa to visit Trump Tower on primary day.

"I support Trump because he's a man of action," she said.
