BROOKLYN — A man is wanted for questioning in the attempted sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl in East New York, police said.

The girl was walking near the intersection of Elton Street and Pitkin Avenue when an unidentified man approached her and “grabbed her arm while exposing his private parts” around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said in a release.

The child screamed, forcing the assailant to flee on foot westbound on Pitkin Avenue, police said.

Police said they are looking for a man described as 20 years old, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, a baseball cap with a red rim and glasses.

The NYPD declined to say whether the man described is a suspect or person of interest in the case.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
