MORRISANIA — An argument over dancing sparked a fatal stabbing in The Bronx on Sunday, according to the NYPD.

Julian Washington, 30, was attending a house party at 645 Westchester Ave. in the St. Mary’s Houses on Sunday, where he was dancing with suspect Vernon Hubbard's sister, police said.

Hubbard, 35, took offense to the type of dancing that they were doing and started arguing with Washington about it, at one point saying that no one at the party would get out of there alive, according to the NYPD.

Washington attempted to calm down Hubbard, but Hubbard then stabbed him in the neck and torso, according to police and court documents.

EMS took Washington to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Hubbard has been arrested for the attack and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police and court documents.

He was arrested multiple times before on charges including robbery and felony assault, police said.

Hubbard has been ordered held without bail, and he is due back in court on April 15, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.

His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
