BROOKLYN — Bernie Sanders plans to tour the borough where he was born and raised Friday, touching down in Midwood to hang out with Mark Ruffalo before swinging through Greenpoint with Susan Sarandon, his campaign said.

The presidential hopeful kicks off his New York weekend with a 3 p.m. rally outside his childhood home 1525 E. 26th St., near Kings Highway, with the the "Spotlight" star, his campaign said.

On Saturday, the Vermont senator will attend a 6 p.m. "community conversation" at the Apollo Theater, 253 W. 125th St., about the criminal justice system, his campaign said.

Doors open for the Harlem talk at 4 p.m.

Sanders has won six of the past seven primary contests, but is still trailing in the delegate count with 1,030 to Clinton's 1,280, according to the New York Times and Real Clear Politics.

Both candidates are vigorously campaigning in New York because they hope a victory during the April 19 primary here will deal a serious blow to the other's momentum, according to the Times.
