LOWER EAST SIDE — A thief snatched a woman’s phone while she waited for a cab on Stanton Street on the night of March 30.

The victim was standing on the sidewalk near Suffolk Street at around 9:27 p.m. when the suspect ran up to her and grabbed her Motorola cellphone out of her left hand, then fled up Suffolk Street towards East Houston Street, police said.

The victim did not get a good look at the crook because he had his hood pulled up tight around his face, according to a police report.

Other recent crimes in the 7th Precinct include:

A robber grabbed a lady’s purse while she waited for the F train at the East Broadway station in the early morning hours of April 4.

The woman was sitting on the stairs to the northbound F train at 2:15 a.m., and as soon as she stood up, the thief snatched her purse out of her hand and ran south down the platform, police said.

The suspect wore a black jacket and a black hoodie, the victim told police. The victim immediately canceled her stolen credit cards and said there had been no unauthorized charges, according to a police report.
