GREENWICH VILLAGE — A man on a PATH train got angry when he was asked to stop exposing his genitals to other passengers, police said.

Police said the man, 61, exposed himself on a PATH train near the West 9th St. station about 8:05 a.m. on March 21.

When a male passenger asked him to stop, the flasher became irate, police said.

He took a box cutter from his pants pocket and started swinging it around in the air, police said.

The incident was reported by a witness and captured on camera, police said.

The man was later arrested by a Port Authority police officer, who recognized him from a photo passed around at roll call and brought him to a PAPD police facility at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, police said.

The man was charged with misdemeanor menacing in the second degree with a weapon and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree with intent to use. He was also issued a violation for exposure.

He was held on $1,000 bail for five days before being released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on May 9. His lawyer declined to comment.
