MIDTOWN — A group of bike-riding teens surrounded a driver’s vehicle, punched his window and slashed his tires before cycling away in an apparently random attack, police said.

The 49-year-old driver from New Jersey was waiting for a traffic light to change on West 56th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue around 5:55 p.m. on March 13 when a “large group of teens” on bikes surrounded his vehicle, the NYPD said.

One of the teens started punching a window and the hood of his vehicle, while another teenage boy slashed his passenger-side tires, the driver told police.

At some point during the incident, the driver asked the teens, “What the f--- are you doing?” police said.

The teens fled eastbound on West 56th Street after the attack, police said.

The driver told police it would cost more than $250 to repair the damage his vehicle’s hood and tires.

Police did not say if anything prompted the incident.
