All Weekend

Mama's Expo at NYSCI

Where: NYSCI, 111th Street, Corona
When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Mama's Expo is a two-day fair that helps parents find important resources, while also offering activities for kids. Saturday's event is focused on pregnancy and babies, while Sunday's event is geared towards kids 2 years and up. The first 200 families who arrive each day will get a free bag with snacks, drinks, and other freebies for parents. The event is free with NYSCI admission.

Friday, March 11

► Spring into the Plazas: Game Day

Where: Lowery Plaza, 40th Street and Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside
When: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District will be setting up giant board games like chess, Connect Four and a bean bag toss under the 7 train as part of a weekly outdoor events series this spring. Local eatery Soleluna will provide free drinks to visitors. Click here for more information.

Saturday, March 12

► ”Carrie” Movie Screening

Where: Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Ave., Astoria
When: 4:30 p.m.

Catch a viewing of the prom queen horror classic, showing as part of the museum’s “See it Big: Jack Fisk” screening series showcasing the films of the celebrated production designer. Tickets are $12.

History of Beer Brewing

Where: King Manor Museum at Rufus King Park, Jamaica Avenue and 150th Street
When: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Learn about the history of brewing beer in England in the 18th and 19th centuries from author and researcher Dr. Terry Foster. 

Sunday, March 13

► Beer and Cheese Pairing Class

Where: Q.E.D.: A Place to Show and Tell, 27-16 23rd Ave., Astoria
When: 3 to 4 p.m.

Carly Leisk, a cheesemonger from Astoria Bier and Cheese, will lead this class, where you’ll get a chance to sample three beer and cheese pairings and learn why they go together. Tickets are $31. 

Irish Comedy Tour

Where: Queensborough Performing Arts Center, 222-05 56th Ave., Bayside.
When: 8 p.m.

Enjoy comedy and Celtic music for an event billed as a "beer-swilling night of politically incorrect fun" from a five-man show. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.
