Friday, Feb. 26

► Sunnyside Comedy

Where: Maggie Mae’s, 41-15 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside
When: 8 p.m.

Join neighborhood group Sunnyside Comedy for its monthly night of drinks, prize giveaways and stand-up, this time featuring comedians Dan Perlman, Rebecca Leib, Gilbert Lawand and others. The suggested donation is $5.

► Beach Party in February

Where: Rockaway Brewing, 46-01 5th St., Long Island City
When: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Celebrate NYC Craft Beer week at this beach-themed bash featuring a seafood pop-up, beer ice cream floats and a DJ spinning surf tunes. 

► Historian Michael Perlman Discusses His Book on Legendary Locals

Where: Leonard Center, 86-13 112th St., Richmond Hill
When: 7:30 p.m.

Historian Michael Perlman will be discussing and signing his book "Legendary Locals of Forest Hills and Rego Park." The book, which has a foreword by Jerry Springer, was published last year. The event is free.  

Saturday, Feb. 27

► The Sounds of Charles Duke

Where: Queens Library Central, 89-11 Merrick Blvd., Jamaica
When: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Charles Duke, a singer, songwriter, composer and classically trained pianist, will present his work, which fuses jazz, soul, pop and classical music with lyrical imagery. Those interested can reserve free tickets here

► Charcuterie Masters

Where: Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd., Flushing
When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Flushing Town Hall will turn into a meat lover's paradise this weekend as North America’s best makers of sausages, pâtés, hams and salami will compete for top honors at this first-of-its-kind event. Attendees can taste more than 60 kinds of charcuterie. A $100 general admission ticket entitles guests to explore unlimited tasting and sampling of all food and beverages. 

► Writer, Liam Singer, Yairms and Native Naive at TransPecos

Where: TransPecos, 915 Wycoff Ave., Ridgewood
When: 8 p.m. 

Hear live music from Writer, presenting "gestured pop music," Liam Singer, best known for "nuanced beautiful songwriting," Yairms, specializing in "fresh American pop music" as well as Native Naive, playing "worldly pop music." Tickets for the show are $5. 

Sunday, Feb. 28

► Arts from Our Neighborhoods

Where: MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Ave., Long Island City
When: 1 p.m.

The museum is teaming up with Naturally Occurring Cultural Districts New York (NOCD-NY) for a day of art and activities led by a number of neighborhood groups, including a button-making workshop, screen printing and a body movement exercise. The event is part of MoMA PS1’s current “Greater New York” exhibit. 

► Shore Soup Fundraiser

Where: Connolly's, 155 Beach 95th St., Rockaway Beach
When: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Shore Soup helps raise funds for local groups throughout the peninsula and their latest event will be held at Connolly's, the neighborhood's legendary bar. It's a $5 suggested donation and groups can apply for a share of what's raised after you pitch your project.

► Search for Owls at Alley Pond Park

Where: Alley Pond Park Adventure Center (in Alley Pond Park), Douglaston. Enter the park at Winchester Boulevard under the Grand Central Parkway.
When: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

How will you spot the birds flying above us if you don't know where or how to look? The Urban Park Rangers will teach you how to spot the owls that live in the five boroughs (yes, they're here with us). It's free and open to all ages.
