DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police have arrested a homeless man who they say tried to push a woman in front of an oncoming train Thursday at Borough Hall.

David French, 46, was charged with reckless endangerment after he grabbed the victim and tried to force her off the subway platform, police said.

The 27-year-old woman was standing at the Manhattan-bound 4/5 platform around 7:15 p.m. when French started yelling at her to leave the station, the NYPD said.

The woman walked away, but the homeless man followed her and pushed her towards the tracks as the train was approaching the station, police said.

She was able to steady herself by clutching onto a nearby pillar, police said.

The woman then got onto the train and rode to Union Square, where she got off and reported the attack, according to NBC New York.

Police said they found French two hours later.

His lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

The woman wasn’t injured.
