Take Root, Bien Cuit Among Brooklyn Semifinalists for James Beard Awards

BROOKLYN — Ten of Brooklyn's finest chefs and restaurants were recognized as semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation's prestigious annual awards announced Wednesday.

Among those honored are Chef Elise Kornack of Take Root in Cobble Hill, restaurateur Andrew Tarlow and Anna Klinger of Al di Là Trattoria in Park Slope.

The final 2016 nominees for the foundation's Restaurant and Chef Awards will be announced March 15. Nominations for Book, Journalism, Broadcast Media and Restaurant Design Awards will also be announced that day.

The gala to announce the winners will be held May 2 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
