FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A man was punched several times in the face during an afternoon robbery on Beaver Street, police said.

The victim was standing in front of 26 Beaver St. at about 1:20 p.m. Friday when he felt a man reaching into his front pocket. When he tried to stop the man, another robber began punching him in the face, leaving him with swelling and bruising.

The pair ran off with $600 of the victim's money. The man was treated on the scene by EMS, police said.
