MIDTOWN EAST — The manager at a Midtown bar was injured in a post-Super Bowl scrum on Sunday night while trying to soothe an unruly crowd, according to police.

At about 11 p.m. the manager of Overlook NYC, located at 255 E. 44th St., was attempting to calm down a group of revelers who lingered at the bar following the 24-10 win by the Denver Broncos over the Carolina Panthers, police said.

Despite his efforts at peacemaking, someone in the crowd hurled a rocks glass at him, striking him in the face, according to a police report. The glass cut the 36-year-old victim on the lip and knocked out a tooth, and medical responders transported him to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, police said.

The manager told police he didn’t see the person who injured him, but said other patrons told him the man fled after tossing the glass, according to a police report.

Reached by phone on Tuesday, an employee of Overlook declined to comment.
