QUEENS — Whether you are an aspiring musician or a local mom who likes to tell jokes about her kids, this new open mic series lets anyone be a star, at least for a few minutes.

The inaugural “Open Mic Night” at The Other Place will launch this Wednesday and “everyone is welcome to watch and to perform,” the organizers said.

Depending on how many people sign up, performers will get roughly five to seven minutes to try and wow the audience.

Hosted by Kew Gardens-based comedian Tracey Carnazzo, 31, the event is free and will be held every second Wednesday of the month.

Carnazzo, who performs regularly at Caroline's on Broadway, and also produces The Hashtag Comedy show at Q.E.D. as well as the upcoming Race & Sex show at The Standing Room, said the Forest Hills event “should be a lot of fun.”

“I’m going to host it in a comedy style and I will try out some of my new material,” she said.

The first Open Mic Night at The Other Place (103-19 Metropolitan Ave.) will be held this Wednesday. Sign up starts at 7:30 p.m. The event will run from 8 to 10 p.m.
