WILLIAMSBURG — A straphanger had her teeth knocked out and another was robbed after attackers pushed them down the stairs as they descended to the L train, police said.

On Dec. 9 just before 4 p.m., a 41-year-old woman was walking down the steps to the platform at the Morgan Avenue L stop when somebody shoved her from behind, police said.

The woman tumbled down the stairs, causing her to fracture her elbow and lose several teeth, police said. She was bleeding and bruised from the fall and had to be taken to the hospital, police said.

The woman didn't see her assailant and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.

In an unrelated attack a day later at the Grand Street stop, a 23-year-old was listening to music at 2 a.m. on his headphones while walking down the stairs on his way home from a friend's party when robbers pushed him down the stairs.

He tumbled to the landing below where they kicked him repeatedly and stole his $650 iPhone and headphones, police said. He couldn't describe his attackers to police and no one had been arrested as of Tuesday.

“Just remain alert [and] be aware of your surroundings,” said Frank Giordano, the captain of the area’s transit police unit.

Both incidents are under investigation, though neither was captured by surveillance cameras, he said.
