PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A reading series founded in Prospect Heights is moving to a new location in the neighborhood this weekend, bringing its particular brand of literary appreciation to a local wine shop.

Readings in Color will set up shop at 65 Fen at Delroy’s Cafe starting Dec. 20, the event’s curators said, bringing original poetry and stories to the Fenimore Street space.

The reading organizers said they chose to move the monthly event to the wine shop at 65 Fenimore St. after their previous location, Color BKLYN on Washington Avenue, closed last month, said co-founder and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens resident Jenna Cardinale. She and co-founder Christine Scanlon first started the event in December of 2014.

“We're excited about the next chapter for the series, which will now be held monthly on Sundays,” Cardinale said.

The first Readings in Color event in the neighborhood will take place this Sunday at 7 p.m. and will feature three Brooklyn-based poets: Chris Slaughter, Bianca Stone and Emily Toder.

Wine from 65 Fen will be for sale during the reading, but the event is no longer B.Y.O.B. as it was in the Prospect Heights location, Cardinale said.

Writers who would like to read at a “Readings in Color” event are encouraged to submit their work to its curators by email at readingsincolor@gmail.com. Sunday’s event is free and open to the public with an RSVP on the group’s Facebook page.
