HIGHBRIDGE — A woman stabbed her husband to death this weekend in the South Bronx apartment that the two shared, according to the NYPD.
Yanny Mejia, 31, was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of her husband, 32-year-old Nelson Mejia.
The father of two was found unconscious and unresponsive with a stab wound to his torso at 1277 Shakespeare Ave. just after 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said.
EMS workers arrived to take him to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The stabbing occurred in the wake of a domestic dispute, according to the NYPD.
Yanny Mejia had not been arraigned yet as of Monday morning.
