EAST HARLEM — A woman stabbed her boyfriend in the chest and barricaded herself inside her apartment to avoid arrest.

Darshell Belton, 37, got into an argument with her boyfriend in an apartment at 350 E. 124th St. in the Wagner Houses, shortly before 7 a.m. on Nov. 24, according to the NYPD.

Police did not say what caused a dispute.

The 38-year-old boyfriend was stabbed in the left side of the chest with a knife, according to the criminal complaint.

Police did not disclose the victim's condition.

One of the responding officers told prosecutors that he found the knife in the apartment’s kitchen.

Police were able to break through the barricade and arrest Belton, who flailed her arms and screamed at officers while resisting arrest, according to the complaint.

Belton has been charged with assault and resisting arrest. She is being held on a $5,000 bond and is due in court July 14, records show.

Her lawyer did not immediately respond to questions about the case.
