CARROLL GARDENS — Carroll Gardens is ringing in the holidays this week.

The Carroll Park tree lighting ceremony  — an annual Christmas tradition with music, snacks and of course, Santa Claus — will take place on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

For those lucky few who get to the park before 6 p.m., this year's event also includes a chance to win tickets to Broadway shows like "Finding Neverland" and "Bright Star."

Organizers will also be accepting non-perishables as part of Carroll Park's City Harvest food drive that will take place during the first three Saturdays in December.

Items that will be taken include canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter in plastic jars and cereals.

The rain date for the tree lighting is Dec. 11.
