Here's Which Streets Will Close for the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting

MIDTOWN — If you drive in the city, you're going to want to avoid Midtown Wednesday night.

The annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting will lead to lots of street closures Dec. 2, according to the NYPD.

► The following streets will be closed from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.:

• 5th Avenue between 46th and 52nd streets

• 6th Avenue between 46th and 52nd streets

• 46th Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 47th Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 48th Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 49th Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 50th Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 51st Street between 5th and 6th avenues

• 52nd Street between 5th and 6th avenues 

This year's tree is a 78-foot tall Norway Spruce which was donated by a family in Ulster County. The tree will be lit up with 45,000 multi-colored LED lights in a televised ceremony starting at 8 p.m. on NBC.
