TREMONT — Police are searching for a man suspected of killing a 24-year-old man in a daylight shooting near Crotona Park this week.

Police released a photo on Friday of Ruben Pizzaro, 23, who's suspected of gunning down David Rivera at 1805 Crotona Ave., near East 175th Street on Tuesday.

Rivera was repeatedly shot in the groin, torso, thigh and arm near the park at 9:19 a.m. near the park, NYPD officials said.

Witnesses told investigators that Rivera, who lived nearby on 179th Street, was being perused by two men in black coats and blue jeans before he was shot, police said.

Rivera was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, police said.

Pizzaro had been arrested numerous times before, including one in 2013 for reckless endangerment, police said. They described him as a 6-foot 2-inch tall man weighing 160 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
