► Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair

Where: Alice Austen House Museum, 2 Hylan Blvd., Rosebank
When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Alice Austen House Museum will host its annual free holiday fair on Saturday and Sunday, where shoppers can buy holiday gifts made by local artists and artisans.

Saturday, Nov. 28

► After Thanksgiving Hike

Where: Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Ave., Willowbrook
When: 10 a.m.

Work off your Thanksgiving meal with a hike through the Greenbelt with the annual "After Thanksgiving Hike." The free, moderately paced hike is more than 90 minutes long and is recommended for ages 8 and up. The hike require registration, which can be done over the phone by calling (718) 351-3450 or emailing naturecenter@sigreenbelt.org.

► Oh Deer!

Where: Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve, 83 Nielsen Ave., Charleston
When: 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Learn about the borough's increasing deer population and the Charleston's nature preserve with a free talk at Clay Pit Ponds on Saturday.

► Delirious Dances, Three Rites

Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston
When: 5 p.m.

The monthly Performance Arts Salon Saturdays series continues with a performance by Edisa Weeks and Delirious Dances. Delirious Dances integrates dance, text and interactive art to try and "explore life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," according to Snug Harbor. The $10 event includes a reception and a moderated question and answer session after the performance.

Sunday, Nov. 29

► Winter Dreams

Where: St. John's University Black Box Theatre, 300 Howard Ave., Silver Lake
When: 2 p.m.

Staten Island OutLOUD ends their monthly "Big Read" series on F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" with a spoken-word performance inspired by the author's short story "Winter Dreams." The story, considered to be part of his "Gatsby Quartet" of short stories, features themes developed in "The Great Gatsby." The event will have readers performing the work and a conversation about "Gatsby" and the author's life and work.

 Robert Moses: Master Builder

Where: Staten Island Museum, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston
When: 2 to 4 p.m.

The Staten Island Museum will host their Fall History Talk taking a look at the controversial builder Robert Moses and his plan for the borough. College of Staten Island professor Ken Gold and Staten Island Museum archivist Cara Dellatte will discuss Moses, how he changed the shape of New York City, and his hands in building the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the Staten Island Expressway. The talk is $15 and is free for members.
