BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — 'Tis the season of giving and receiving.

Small businesses along Montague Street are celebrating the holiday spirit by encouraging locals to shop, eat and drink while also helping those in need.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, shops and eateries along the commercial corridor in Brooklyn Heights will offer discounts on food, drink and clothes. There will also be designated drop-boxes in certain businesses for donating new or gently-used hats, gloves, and scarves.

Many businesses will continue offering special deals during the holiday initiative, known as Drop Shop Experience Taste, until Dec. 28, organizers said.

The kick-off for the program on Nov. 28, which also marks Small Business Saturday, will feature caroling by the Grace Chorale Society from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Donated clothes will be given to shelters, nonprofits and locals in need, the Montague Street Business Improvement District, which is organizing the event, said.

Some of the drop-box locations include Aerosoles at 142 Montague St., Heights Cafe at 84 Montague St. and Kiehl's at 124 Montague St.
