CLAREMONT VILLAGE — A teenager died after being shot in the South Bronx Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Jujuan Carson, 19, was shot in the back near the corner of Washington Ave and East 169th street outside the Hernandez Food Corp. deli at around 1:50 p.m., police said.

Carson was taken to Lincoln Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, fire officials said.

Investigators want to question two men who were spotted running away from the scene, police said.

A man who said he was an uncle of Carson was visibly shocked when he arrived at the scene.

"They killed him? That's my nephew... He's gone... He's dead," said Kip Mobily, wiping tears from his face.

"He's not the type of kid to be targeted," Mobily said. "There's no such thing as wrong or right people. This whole area is wrong."

A 37-year-old neighbor who did not want to be named said she heard a single shot while she was getting her hair done at a nearby hair salon.

"I went outside, I saw them lifting him up and blood was gushing," she said. "People were just screaming. Seeing someone on the floor, it hurts."

The woman told DNAinfo New York that violence is common in the area.

"They do it right in the police's face. It's crazy," she said.
