LOWER EAST SIDE — A man's arm broke when he was run over by a bus in the Lower East Side Monday morning, officials said.

The man, whose name and age were not immediately released, was crossing over Madison Street at Jackson Street about 11:02 a.m. when an M22 bus made a left turn onto Madison and struck him, FDNY and MTA officials said.

Witnesses said the bus then reversed and hit him again.

The bus driver remained on the scene and called authorities after hitting the man, an MTA spokeswoman said.

The bus pinned the victim until medical responders managed to free him, officials said.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he's listed in serious condition, an FDNY spokesman said. He was treated for a broken arm, police said.

There were no immediate arrests and investigators did not immediately suspect any criminality was involved, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
