PlaceInvaders Take Over Mystery SoHo Loft

Where: It’s a secret! Somewhere in SoHo, in the same building where Robert Mapplethorpe had a photography studio and The Police recorded their first album.
When: Dinner at 7 p.m. on Friday, or brunch on Saturday or Sunday at 1 p.m.

The couple behind PlaceInvaders holds fabulous five-course dinner parties in other people’s homes — while the homeowners are away. This weekend’s festivities are in a SoHo loft. The address will only be provided to ticket-holders on the day of the event, but we got a hint that it’s in the same building where The Police recorded their first album. Dinner tickets cost $250 apiece, and brunch is $170, and they’re almost sold out.

DoublePlus: Nami Yamamoto + Manami Fukuoka Modern Dance Performance

Where: Gibney Dance, 280 Broadway, Civic Center
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Two renowned Japanese modern dancers perform back-to-back shows of their own moving, personal choreography. Yamamoto performs her "Headless Wolf," a dance that captures her experience of becoming a mother while losing her father. Tickets are $20.

Goddard Riverside Book Fair       

Where: 593 Columbus Ave., Upper West Side
When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Publishers donate thousands of brand-new books to Goddard Riverside, which are sold to the public at a 50 percent discount, with the proceeds going to help Goddard’s programs helping homeless and low-income people.

Blue Hill Troupe Performs “A Little Night Music” to benefit the Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation

Where: The Theatre at St. Jean’s, 184 E. 76th St., Upper East Side
When: Friday 7:30 p.m., Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Set in early 20th-century Sweden, “A Little Night Music” is about actress Desiree Armfeldt’s affairs with a number of men — and the ire of their jealous wives. All of them meet for a weekend in the country, where intrigue ensues. Tickets range from $29.50 to $75.

Union Square Holiday Market

Where: Union Square at 14th Street
When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Get your holiday shopping done in one fell swoop at the Union Square Holiday Market, which has dozens of booths where local vendors ply their wares.

Friday, Nov. 20

Hip Hop Nutcracker

Where: 4140 Broadway at 175th St., Washington Heights
When: 8 p.m.

Join rap legend Kurtis Blow, as he hosts the hip-hop event of the year in Washington Heights, set to the classical music from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.” The show features the beats of DJ Boo, 11 dancers, an electric violinist and digital scenery of Washington Heights.

Saturday, Nov. 21

Clean Slate — Resolve Warrants Without Fear of Arrest

Where: Soul Saving Station Church at 302 W. 124th St., West Harlem
When: 9 a.m.

The Manhattan DA, along with Legal Aid, are turning a church into a court where people with summons warrants for low-level crimes like drinking in public, littering, and pot possession can resolve the warrants without being arrested.

Small Business Saturday

Where: Throughout the 125th Street Corridor, Harlem
When: Throughout the day

Several businesses and merchants associations are hosting Small Business Saturday in Harlem and El Barrio. The event is meant to bring support to local and minority-owned businesses in the neighborhood. Many stores will have special discounts throughout the day.

The Warriors Scavenger Hunt

Where: 1560 Broadway, Times Square
When: 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You’re never too old for a scavenger hunt! A local quidditch team (yes, quidditch) is raising money for their team by hosting a massive scavenger hunt in Times Square this Saturday. You can sign up online to take part as a team or by yourself and the day of the big hunt you’ll be given a list of tasks you have to perform. It costs $5 dollars to sign up by yourself or $25 to sign up for teams ahead of time and $30 the day of. Participants must be 16 and older.

An Illustrated History of Tango

Where: 1000 St. Nicholas Ave., between 160th and 161st Street, Washington Heights
When: 2 p.m.

Join Grammy-nominated Argentine bassist and tango scholar Pablo Aslan for a discussion on tangos from all eras, illustrating the 100+ years of evolution of the music, song and dance form. Aslan will be accompanied by Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Emilio Solla.

Seward Park's Youth Sci-Fi Comic Con

Where: Seward Park Library, 192 East Broadway
When: Noon to 4 p.m.

The library will host its first-ever convention for young science fiction and comic book fans. The event, geared towards kids 5 to 18 years old, will include guest authors, giveaways and treats provided by Brooklyn Whiskers. The event free.

Music in Chelsea

Where: St. Peter’s, 346 W. 20th St., Chelsea
When: 4:00 p.m.

A local wind ensemble will perform quartets by Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean Baptiste Loeillet de Gant, Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Joachim Quantz for a soothing afternoon of classical tunes. Proceeds go to a local food pantry. There’s a $10 suggested donation.
