MIDTOWN EAST — Police are on the lookout for a thief they say broke into a Midtown construction site and pilfered materials, according to a police report.

The suspected burglar broke into a worksite at 875 Third Ave. between East 52nd and East 53rd streets on Nov. 3 shortly before midnight, police said.

He snatched $38 in cash, an iPhone 5C, clothing and two tools, including a grinder worth $200 and a Sawzall, according to authorities.

Police described the theif as a man in his mid-30s, standing about 5-foot-6 and weighing 185 pounds.
