QUEENS — Forest Hills residents will celebrate the kickoff to the holidays during the neighborhood's first-ever Celebrate Winter event.

The festival, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 30, will include family-friendly activities including a holiday lighting ceremony.

There will also be live music and kids' activities as well as raffles and giveaways from local businesses, according to the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event.

Locals will also get to take a selfie in a photo booth with the Forest Hills reindeer, the organizers said.

“Let’s start the celebration of winter in Forest Hills together,” the chamber's event flyer read. “Come eat, shop, love Forest Hills for the holidays.”

The event will take place under the tent on 71st Road, between Austin Street and Queens Boulevard.

The first annual Celebrate Winter event will run from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Holiday Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. For additional information contact the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce at fhchamber@aol.com.
