FORT GREENE — Two people were taken into custody Wednesday evening after an aircraft flying over Brooklyn reported being targeted by someone wielding a laser pointer Wednesday evening, police said.

The New York Police Department's Aviation unit dispatched helicopters to investigate the incident near the Atlantic Terminal in Fort Greene, police said.

Some Brooklyn residents took to social media to express their confusion over the many helicopters buzzing over the area:

It's probably never a good sign to see so many helicopters in the air at once.#Brooklyn #helicopter
