CARROLL GARDENS — A man was injured by a trio near the turnstile of the Smith-Ninth Street subway station in the third incident there in the last month, police said.

The 37-year-old victim was assaulted on Nov. 4 around 11 a.m. by three men who punched him in the nose and face, causing bleeding and swelling, according to the police report.

He was treated for his injuries at New York Methodist Hospital.

According to the report, the victim was familiar with two of his attackers although he did not know their names. He did not immediately recognize the third man.

This is the third incident that's taken place in the Smith Street subway station in recent weeks.

On Oct. 15, a female victim was beaten and almost robbed of her cellphone while standing on the F/G platform.

Last week, police released photos of a man wanted for menacing a teen girl with a knife at the station.
