Which Subways Are Running This Weekend?

NEW YORK CITY — This weekend, 13 subway lines, including two shuttles, will be disrupted by maintenance work as part of MTA's Capital Rebuilding Program.

1 Line

The 1 train will be suspended in both directions between 14th Street and South Ferry from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. You can hop on a 4, 5, A, C, R train and free shuttle buses instead. The free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

2 Line

The 2 train will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line

Commuters taking the 3 train should be aware that they will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late December 2015. 

For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, use shuttle buses to or from the Saratoga Avenue station at all times. B60 riders can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue.

For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses to or from the Pennsylvania Avenue station at all times. Free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

From 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday, 3 trains will also run local in both directions between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station.

4 Line

4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late December 2015.

6 Line

Southbound 6 trains will run express from Parkchester to 3rd Avenue-138th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

7 line

From 12:15 a.m Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday, 7 trains will not be operating between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street.

Free shuttle buses will make all stops between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue. The 42nd Street Shuttle will be operating overnight.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, take the E, F, N, Q or R.

Transfer between 7 trains and E, F and R trains at 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue.

Q service is extended to Ditmas Boulevard between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

A Line

A trains will be rerouted via the F line in both directions between West 4th Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A trains will run local in both directions between West 4th Street-Washington Square and 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound A trains will run express from 168th Street to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will skip 104th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will skip 80th Street and 111th Street at all times until winter 2016.

C Line

C trains will be rerouted via the F line in both directions between Jay Street-MetroTech and West 4th Street-Washington Square on Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

Also on Sunday, Brooklyn-bound C trains will run express from 168th Street to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

E Line

E trains will run local in both directions in Queens from 5:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

F Line

Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue and Avenue X at all times until Winter 2015.

F trains will be suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Kings Highway from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will operate between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, stopping at Avenue U, Avenue X, Neptune Avenue, and West 8th Street.  

F trains will run local in both directions in Queens from 12:01 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

L Line

L trains will skip Atlantic Avenue in both directions at all times until winter 2016.

L trains will be suspended in both directions between Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Free local shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues, stopping at East 105th Street, New Lots Avenue, Livonia Avenue, Sutter Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Broadway Junction, Bushwick Avenue, Wilson Avenue and Halsey Street.

Free express shuttle buses will serve Rockaway Parkway, Broadway Junction and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues only. Transfer between free shuttle buses and L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues.

Rockaway Park Shuttle

The Rockaway Park shuttle will be suspended from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Rockaway Park and the Beach 67th Street A train station, stopping at Beach 105th Street, Beach 98th Street and Beach 90th Street. Transfer between free shuttle buses and A trains at Beach 67th Street.

Franklin Avenue Shuttle

The Franklin Avenue shuttle will run every 24 minutes from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.
