HELLS KITCHEN — A man trying to hail a taxi slashed the cab's tires and punched the driver in the face Sunday after the cabbie told him that he only took passengers with reservations, police said.

The suspect flew into a rage about 4 a.m. near the corner of 47th Street and Eleventh Ave. after the  52-year-old yellow cab driver, from Queens, told the man he couldn't give him a lift, police said. The suspect slashed three of the cab's tires, police said.

The driver told the man that he had to pay for the tires and the man approached the driver and punched him in the left eye, police said.

No one has been arrested in the incident as of Monday, police said.
