FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A man had nearly $3,500 worth of his belongings, including his $600 gold cufflinks and $2,000 Mac Book Pro, stolen as he dined at Fraunces Tavern last week, police said.

The 49-year-old victim placed his bag on a chair next to him while he sat at the historic 54 Pearl St. restaurant at about 6 p.m. on Thursday, police said. When he eventually reached for his bag, which also contained a $500 external hard drive and a Mets cap, it was missing.

According to video surveillance footage, a man sat next to the victim and placed his jacket over the victim's things, then grabbed his bag, police said. Another man stood near the door, acting as lookout, police said.

Police were still investigating the incident.
