HAMILTON HEIGHTS — An Asian restaurant on Broadway and a Mexican restaurant in East Harlem were shut down by the Health Department last week.

On Tuesday, health inspectors found evidence of live rats at Sing Luck Garden and Geisha Sushi, two restaurants with separate entrances that share 3470 Broadway. They also found that there were no facilities to “wash, rinse and sanitize utensils and/or equipment,” according to the health officials.

A sign by the door of Geisha said they were closed for construction and would reopen soon. A crew working on the renovations declined to speak about the health inspection.

The owner could not be reached for comment.

In East Harlem, health inspectors found live roaches at El Tapatio on 209 E. 116th St. The restaurant was also not vermin proof, health inspectors said after the Wednesday visit.

During their previous inspection in May, they found evidence of mice in the restaurant, records show

El Tapatio could not be reached Tuesday morning.
