STAPLETON — Police are looking for three women who were involved in an argument that led to a man getting stabbed on a Staten Island bus this week.

The three woman — captured on surveillance video on the Staten Island Ferry — were seen with the male suspect on the bus and were involved in the argument that led to the stabbing on Tuesday, police said.

A 24-year-old man got into an argument with a female passenger on the S74 bus at about 1:44 p.m. when she started to slap him, police said.

When the victim raised his hands to protect himself, another male passenger stabbed him at least four times in the right hand, abdomen, left hip and right armpit, police said.

Police did not say what started the fight, but the New York Daily News reported it was over a seat on the bus.

After the stabbing, the driver ordered all the passengers to exit the bus at Canal and Water streets, where the suspect fled with the three women, police said.

The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition, police said.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot 7-inch man in his early 20s, weighing 160 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
