GOWANUS — Plans are in the works for a seven-story mixed use building that would replace a 19th century house on Ninth Street, according to Department of Buildings documents.

Permits were filed Tuesday to build the new structure at 217 Ninth St., between Third and Fourth avenues. Right now there's a residential wood-frame building on the lot that was built in roughly 1899, according to city records.

The new building would be 60 feet high and have 13 residential units. There would be a medical office on the first floor, according to DOB filings.

Developer Praim Singh could not be reached immediately for comment Wednesday.
