Suspected Shooter in Flatiron Nightclub Murder Arrested, Police Say

FLATIRON — The man suspected of killing a single mother celebrating her birthday and injuring two other women in a shooting at a nightclub Monday morning was arrested Tuesday night, police said said.

Dalone Jamison, 26, a DJ and suspected gang member from The Bronx, was caught in Carroll Gardens at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and take into the 13th Precinct stationhouse for the death of Walikque Faussett, 24, at Motivo nightclub, sources said.

Jamison had been hired by Motivo promoters to DJ for an all-black party, at which attendees dressed all  in black, but was thrown out of the club for fighting, sources said.

Jamison faced charges of murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

In posts on his Instagram account on Monday, Jamison denied involvement in the killing and shared a photo of himself sitting next to Faussett, who he refers to as a "friend."

In another Instagram picture, posted only minutes after the club closed at 4 a.m. on Monday, Jamison and Faussett are seated together at what appears to be the club. The caption reads "What's goin on in these streets smh hope lil sis ok I would loose it if not."

Other pictures posted on Jamison's Instagram account show crowds of people at Motivo on Monday night, as well as a table full of bottles of liquor.

Faussett, also from the Bronx, was belatedly celebrating her birthday with two friends at the Flatiron nightclub Motivo on Monday morning, her family said on Monday.

As the club was closing, a scuffle erupted outside during which the suspect fired several shots.

Faussett, who went by the nickname "Grace," was struck in the back and killed. Two other women, including Faussett's friend, were also injured in the shooting.

Jamison is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
