ASTORIA — Two Lizards, a Mexican eatery that got its start on the Upper East Side, is expanding with a second location that's set to open on Ditmars Boulevard next month, according to its owner.
The restaurant will take over the space at the corner of Ditmars Boulevard and 35th Street, formerly occupied by Greek seafood eatery Okeanos, according to owner Juan Liz.
The menu will offer "authentic Mexican food," including tacos, fajitas, enchiladas and made-to-order guacamole, according to Two Lizard's menu.
"For the past several years I've been noticing changes on Ditmars Boulevard," Liz said, pointing to the influx of new residents and a variety of new eateries on the historically Greek corridor. "I saw the opportunity on that corner there, and I see a lot of potential."
The new location plans to offer the "same type of excellent service and food," as the original Two Lizards on First Avenue and 73rd Street, which has been open there for about three years, according to Liz.
The Astoria location is expected to open by the third week of November, Liz said.
