Man Tries to Sexually Assault Bushwick Woman After Following Her Home: NYPD

BUSHWICK — A man who followed a woman into her Bushwick building engaged her in a conversation and later tried to sexually assault her, police said.

The victim, 36, was going into her apartment building near Broadway and Myrtle Avenue on Friday, Oct. 2 around 11:15 p.m. when she was followed inside by a man who started talking to her, police said.

The two started chatting and continued to talk as they went inside her apartment, police said.

The man then tried to sexually assault her, police said.

He then fled, police said.

He was described as being in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. The victim did not know the man.

It is unclear what they were discussing.

Police are investigating the incident.
