FINANCIAL DISTIRCT — Bungees, bands, ballet — and a chair — are at the core of this gym's aerobic workouts.
ChaiseFitness, an exercise studio known for combining pilates and dance moves, and using a specially designed pilates-chair, along with hanging pulleys for arm workouts, has opened a new expansive location at 180 Maiden Lane.
The exercise style was developed by mother-daughter co-owners Lauren and Rachel Piskin. Lauren was a former competitive ice-skater, while Rachel was a ballerina for years with the New York City ballet.

The luxury 3,000-square-foot studio is the duo's fourth and largest location. There are also some new features, including an expansive space for their first indoor cycling classes.
The studio, which usually charges $39 for a single class, is offering some grand opening specials, including a 30-day unlimited membership for $199 and a 15-class pack for $350. New clients are being offered three classes for $33 and an introductory six-class pack for $150.
“Over the past few years, we have been inspired and energized by the vibrant revitalization taking place downtown and we are so thrilled to bring our philosophy of core-based fitness to this dynamic community,” said Lauren Piskin in a statement.
“As a family-owned, family-run fitness brand, we never imagined we would be able to offer our clients such an elevated scope of fitness facilities."
