CHELSEA — A woman on her way to work got a lot of unwanted attention from a man in a snorkel who bear-hugged her and carried her across the sidewalk, police said.

While in his clutches, the man who appeared to be in his thirties, mumbled something to the 22-year-old woman that she couldn't understand, police said.

The incident happened on the corner of Eighth Avenue and 23rd Street roughly 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 2, according to police.

Eventually the man let the woman go and walked off, police said. No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning, according to police.
