MORRIS PARK — An employee at Montefiore Hospital was found dead in the facility's bathrooms on Monday — and his body remained there for five days before the hospital finally found him, according to his outraged family.

Anthony Iuso, 44, worked at the medical center as an operations room cleaner and went to the facility's emergency room on Thursday to get treated for an injured finger, according to his younger brother Thomas Iuso.

Iuso went to a bathroom after getting treated, according to surveillance video, but somehow his body was left there, unnoticed, until Monday, when his frantic family finally convinced the facility to search for him, they said.

"They only found him because we started making a commotion that they really needed to start moving on this because it’s been so many days, and we keep getting the runaround," Anthony Iuso said.

"Every step of the way, they don’t shy away from saying that they don’t care," the brother added.

Montefiore is now investigating his death with the NYPD, according to a statement from the medical center.

"The staff at Montefiore are extremely saddened to learn that one of our employees has passed away," the statement reads. "Our hearts go out to the family, friends and co-workers."

However, Thomas was very critical of the medical center's response to his brother's death so far, characterizing it as slow and apathetic.

The family is currently in the process of contacting a lawyer, the brother said.

He described his brother as a very kind and loving person.

"He was a great guy. He was a super nice guy. He had a great heart, and he loved the people around him," he said. "And for somebody like that, this is not what should have happened."
