MIDTOWN — It looks like New York City had a lucky break this time.

Forecasters are now predicting Hurricane Joaquin will veer offshore into the Atlantic and miss the city completely.

That means the five boroughs will barely get any Joaquin-related rain or wind — a huge improvement on the doomsday scenario city officials had been preparing for.

"It’s tracking far enough [away] we shouldn’t even see winds," said National Weather Service spokeswoman Carlie Buccola.

The city was bracing for the category 4 storm with the Office Of Emergency Management activating the flash flood and coastal storm emergency systems earlier this week.

The storm was expected to hit Monday or Tuesday.

There is still a separate weather system stalled over the city, according to the NWS, which could leave us with just under an inch of moisture through Saturday.
