UPPER WEST SIDE — A caviar bar and boutique is opening inside a former frozen yogurt shop on Amsterdam Avenue this winter, a rep for the business said.

Olma Caviar Boutique & Bar, which operates a caviar bar at the Plaza Food Hall, is opening up its second location inside the former Yogurtland space at 420 Amsterdam Ave., at West 80th Street, said Olma's director of retail operations, Edward Eliachov.

The news was first reported by Crain's, which said the business signed a long-term lease for the 1,200-square-foot space.

In addition to selling the various caviar brands it stocks at the Plaza, the new shop will also have a full liquor license and a lounge, where patrons will be able to sip Champagne while they eat, Eliachov said.

The Amsterdam Avenue boutique and bar will closely resemble the Plaza Food Hall, which serves caviar platters, as well as foie gras, blinis and crab legs. A black caviar trio tasting dish goes for $89, according to its online menu.

Olma is shooting to open in December, but the date may get pushed to January or February, Eliachov said.

In addition, Orwasher's Bakery is opening soon on Amsterdam Avenue, along with Crave Fishbar and a new craft beer shop.

Yogurtland is just one of a slew of frozen yogurt shops that closed recently along the avenue.
