EAST HARLEM — Three teenagers sucker punched a 50-year-old man in the back of the head and shoved him down the stairs near the Third Avenue Bridge.

The man crossed the bridge near 129th Street and Lexington Avenue about 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to the NYPD.

While crossing, the man passed three boys between the ages of 14 and 16. One of them said, "Why are you looking at me?" then another punched the man in the head, police said.

After the assault, the boys took the man's backpack containing a hard drive, a camera and other equipment inside and ran into Harlem River Park.

Saturday's beating was the second assault in which a group of boys attacked a man.

On September 13, about 7:15 p.m. a 54-year-old man crossed the same bridge and came upon a group of seven boys between 10 and 12 years old, police said.

One of the boys ordered the rest to, "take everything," according to the NYPD.

The group assaulted the man and ran into Harlem River Park without taking anything.
